Cornell Participatory Action Research Network- First Meeting, Feb. 22!

Are you interested in Participatory Action Research or other alternative research methodologies? Would you like more support for your qualitative and/or community-based research?

The Cornell Participation Action Research Network (CPARN) is an organization dedicated to bringing members of the Cornell community who are engaged in action research together in the spirit of collaboration and community-building. CPARN will organize social networking events, host research workshops and proposal feedback sessions,and maintain a participant-owned and managed blog (http://cornellparnetwork.blogspot.com/).

We will be hosting our first event on February 22nd in W. Sibley 115 at 4:30 PM. We'd love to see you!

Welcome

The Cornell Participatory Action Research Network (cPARN) was founded in 1992 and continues to foster robust discussion on action research at Cornell and beyond. A brief history of the network can be found here.

Please sign up for our listserve to participate in the ongoing dialogue.

The goals of the network are to :

- Provide a convenient and supportive way for students from many academic disciplines to locate PAR resources (classes, faculty, students) and pursue action research;

- Establish support for students wishing to incorporate PAR into their existing/planned research by providing a student forum to discuss and evaluate research and a network of committed faculty members to advise on PAR techniques and execution;

- Support an alternative and underrepresented research methodology;

- Create an archive/collective history of PAR at Cornell;

- Foster a supportive and challenging network of faculty and students who are committed to PAR.
